Chappie

3rd July, 2015

Genre: Action, Crime, Sci-Fi

Running time: 120 min

This movie is about the time in the future when mechanized robot act as a substitute for the police. The starts off nicely, with a hugely successful robot task force which helps save human lives. The robots are equipped with a moderate A.I and the head developer played by Dev Patel continues to work on an even better A.I. program which would enable the robots to have feelings and make self- decisions. However when he pitches the idea to his boss, the boss disagrees and the developer end up creating a highly intelligent robot, Chappie by himself. Chappie then ends up with the wrong people (gangsters) and the whole story takes a funny, action-packed turn.

There are some parts in the movie that are hard to swallow but the seamless CGI, visual effects, the humor and the overall feel of the movie more than makes up for it. The movie also has numerous funny scenes that just adds to the movie being more interesting. Most of the aspects of the movie that could have gone wrong have been nailed on the head by the director. The effects are visually striking and a very well paced and there is never a moment where the character of Chappie gets boring.

To sum up, Chappie is an excellent movie and you leave the movie like you’ve become friend with Chappie and would definitely recommend this movie for a good time.

The show started at about 5:05 P.M. and ended at 7:15 P.M.  During the break, popcorn and cold drinks were served to audience.  I think the audience had a pretty good time.
