Giriraj Khatri

(Class of 2019)

“I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things that I am afraid of.” This quote by Joss Whedon has always inspired me to write, and the 642 creative writing course was the perfect platform on which to create my own piece of writing. The best lesson that I learnt was that you need to write everyday to be a good writer.

Prabina Neupane

Class of 2016

I have always been interested in writing. I believe it is the best medium to voice your opinion to a large audience. There are so many things in my mind that I want to voice, but I always find it difficult to put them into words. The main reason I joined the 642 class was to be able to write down my thoughts on paper.  This class helped me a lot in gaining flow in my writing. In addition to that, I can now express my feelings and opinions in a much better way than before. 642 has helped me regain my interest in writing.

Akankshya Upadhaya

Class of 2018

My only aim in joining 642 was to enhance my writing skills by engaging myself more in literature. With the continuous writing practice under guidance, it has become easier to be able to write what I picture in my mind. I have made many improvements in my writing, and the difference between my previous and current writings can be distinguished as I re-read them now. The class was a great learning experience.

Saras Karanjit

Class of 2019

As I have always found English fascinating and because love playing with words, the 642 creative writing course was the type of training I was looking forward to.  After completing the course, I’ve learnt different ways to make an article presentable and make the reader connect with the writing.

Shiva Tripathi

Class of 2019

I always wanted to express my thoughts through words. I believe that the 642 creative writing course would help me to write more effectively, so I decided to join. In this course, I have learned character development, story roadways mapping, and much more that I think is essential to being a good writer.

Suraj Regmi

Class of 2017

I am Suraj from Chawail, doing my fifth semester engineering in Information Technology.

I wanted to write a novel, but found it very difficult to start. My mind was completely blank wondering where to start, how to develop characters, how to make sure the story flows. These reasons are why I took the 642 creative writing course. This course was very helpful to me. I learned how to develop characters for my novel. The showing VS telling technique, in which you build a picture of activity in your reader’s mind without specifically writing about it, was worth learning. I enjoyed taking this course.

Nisha Dhungana

Class of 2017

I have always been a shy girl. Making lots of friends and enjoying the crowd has never been an option for me. Due to my shy nature, I developed a habit of writing, which I found to be the best option to circulate ideas that I could never speak out loud. 642 was aimed to broaden the thinking and imagination capabilities of individuals, which I have always wanted. Therefore I joined 642 and I can say my writing has improved a lot from the beginning to the end of the course.

Prakriti Shree Tuladhar

Class of 2018

Recently, I have been very interested in writing articles, so when the 642 course was announced, I couldn’t wait to take part in the classes. In the class, I learned a lot of things about describing the characters, setting the scenes, and writing conversations. Overall, I really enjoyed the class.
